I started social work when I was 14, that is, when I was schooling. During this time I found various ways of finding money. We used to pick up bushels of paddy at the time of harvesting and sell them for money. At three, four in the morning, groups of children from all over the village would walk through the plantations and pick cashews that have fallen under the trees. We would sell them to make money as well. I used the money I got from that to help out with the education of children in need. Since then I have tried my best and achieved to fulfil my duties to the society. But I still would like to help the society. The same goes for Mrs. Pushpa Ramyani de Zoysa. She too has been involved in social work since she was about 18 years old. Both of us together hope to put a smile on every woman’s face, to fill every woman’s life with love, to fill a woman’s heart with joy, and to give every woman a meaningful life. Through it, to build lovely loving families from door to door. Finally, to make the whole country a proud country on the world map. That is the dream that the both of us share.
